War drums on the Potomac?

Sy Hersh has a hot piece in the current issue of The New York. Famous for his breaking the My Lai massacre, he has sources in the Pentagon. Today, he's talking of Herr Bush's everything in place to launch the long talked about attack on Iran. Michael Klare share 50 per cent of Hersh's fears, though. It reminds one of the short story which hardly anyone reads anymore. Which door will the protagonist open? The one behind which is the fair damsel? or the other which harbours a man eating lion.? True Herr Bush is the most radical [right] of America's 43 presidents, and he doesn't give a rat's fart to those who question his right to do what he jolly well pleases. His war in Iraq ain't going well; he dropped the ball against the Taliban in Afghanistan; his ally in Pakistan is in collusion with radical Islamists; and he's stretched his military to the point of breaking. Attacking Iran would cause serious civil unrest in the US; bring down the pillars of the economic temple on Herr Bush's thick head; and send south the world's economy and play havoc with the way of life we know. Is Sy Hersh playing the boy who cried wolf? One wonders, and yet one thing is sure, Herr Bush's own generals are fearful of the man's actions, and so they leak rumours to Hersh to put sticks in the spokes of Herr Bush bicycle to war with Ira Link
