Obama looks more and more presidential

The talking heads in the US keep saying that senator Barak Obama's trip to Afghanistan, the Middle East, and Europe is getting massive press coverage. That may be true of the non American press, but reading on line the major American broadsheets, you wouldn't think so. Instead, we get endless commentary on the drab and lackluster senator John McCain. The media say that poll after poll show that a goodly majority of Americans thank that the senator from Arizona has it hands over heels on Obama as a military leader. What polls, pray tell? And what is the cross section of the population tested? McCain keeps sounding unpresidential, whilst hearing Obama speak about a timetable for US troop withdrawal from Iraq has the ring of a real commander in chief, unlike McCain who doesn't seem to know his American constitution would leave the generals to run wars. Obama with each country that he visits has draped himself in the toga of leadership, McCain's whining that the Illinois senator is wet behind the ear when it comes to going abroad. Has this man forgotten that Herr Bush never traveled outside the US until he became president? What's more many of Obama pronouncements on foreign policy strike the right chord; McCain's clash with reality, his consciousness is working a slow speed to catch up!
