India's Congress government hasn't fallen yet. Nonetheless a nuclear accord with the US will inflame conditions in the basket case which is Pakistan

To cries of bribery and dirty pool, the Congress led Indian government got what it wanted: the green light to go ahead with an agreement with Washington for US nuclear technology for peaceful use. Which raises the question: will New Delhi now sign the non nuclear proliferating treaty? Maybe yes, maybe no. Only time will tell. A consequence of this win for prime minister M. Singh, is that relations with Pakistan will become more testy. Its neighbour which India thrashed three times in war, is a basket case waiting to implode. Mushareff instead of going after Islamic extremist beefed up arms to the 60 year disputed squabble over territory in Kashmir Jammu. The deal with Washington will inflame spiraling out of control conditions in Pakistan, to say the least. And the army which is the key to power in Islamabad is betwixt a rock and a hard place, and a guardian of Pakistan's nuclear arsenal, but for how long? Herr Bush's gambit has opened another can of worms on the Indian subcontinent.
