America grows poorer day by day

Herr Bush won't admit it that under his dyslexic eye American households are getting poorer and poorer with each passing day. Already, the flip flopping New York Times reports that people are walking away from houses of theirs thereby letting their piece of the American dream fall into default or disclosure. This is in sharp constract to the plutocratic Forbes magazine the latest issue of which beats pots and pans and blows bells and whistles to advertise the increase in the growing numbers of billionaires. The feckless gray old lady of America's journalism hid in a Saturday edition [see 18Brumaire's commentary] that the US Bureau of the Budget had gathered data which showed that under the iron rule of Herr Bush, the top one percent of America's householder wealth in two years 2003 to 2005 had jumped a mind boggling 46 per centages where as the nearest quintile of American rose a paltry 12 percent. Which means in grosser terms that about one per cent of Americans own as much as 150.000 Americans. Ain't that a kick in the head. But you won't find in American papers the news that poverty is spreading through the middle and the hard working classes. No you won't. Thanks to a mostly Republican Congress which gets marching orders from Herr Bush's lieutenants, corporate taxes are cut to favour his friends and croneys; they have helped balloon the debt to finance a war which Herr Bush lied the country into fighting; they have cut back on funding to help America's households whilst waving the bible in everyone's face; they have left the country's infrastructure to run to ruin and collapse, to favour the rich and increase the size of their wallets. Patriots they! Let 18Brumaire laugh with anger, thank you very much! And the Republican McCain is running on Herr Bush's programme. He's bonkers on war and empty headed on the economy.
The Democrats offer hope but alas although Barak Obama talks the talk he does walk the walk on social issues. And it looks as though the big ticket item in the upcoming presidential race is 'the economy, stupid!'. And that's the reason why Hillary Clinton is still in the race because she talks the talk, and walks the walk. And that's why she may trump Obama in his bid for the nod to the Oval Office. It has little to do with racism but more to do with a programme for getting us out of the mess Herr Bush and his army of thugs and pie in the sky bible thumpers have put us in.
